Japan

It has been three weeks since Becky and I vacationed in Japan.  I think the best way to share our trip is though pictures...with captions of course!

Becky and I traveled with our friends Erin and Emily.

First stop: Tokyo

What better way to start of a Japan story than with a vending machine.  Actually, this is a waiter. Order food from the machine and give the cook the receipt.  Cold and efficient, like the way I love.

Becky and Steve.  Steve hosted us in his apartment and played tour guide for a day.
My hair really liked Japan weather.
This tree is older than America.

One of the three tallest pagodas in Japan.  We saw all three.  Whoooooo!
Harajuka and the dancing Elvis'
This deserves a little more than captions.  Thanks to Japan being an incredibly rigid society where conformity fully expected and sticking out is shunned, people gather in the park on weekend to express themselves. (That last sentence was a big fatty generalization made based on reading about Japan and spending a week there...take it with a grain of salt please.)
One of the Harajuka cosplay girls.  They come every Sunday and dress up.

I saw these dude drinking some Yellow Rose of Texas whiskey and immediately went to them.
Steve got a sample of the Yellow Rose!

Check out the comb in the back pocket.

I want a jacket.

Respect the do.

Shibuya Intersection: We had to go to the iconic six street intersection.  It was pretty crazy, even on a Sunday evening.

The next day we got up early and made our way to world famous Tsujiki fish market.
Mmmmmmmm. Salmon roe.
Big fish.

I love the display case for this hunk of tuna.
Beautiful fish.  I love eating beautiful animals.  Who doesn't like peacock tacos?

What the...
...freak is that?

That does it for Tokyo.  Stay tuned for Kyoto, Hiroshima and Nara.

Love,

iBeck
