WOW Lip Dub

Every year, our middle school takes a week from our regular classes and conducts what we call Week withOut Walls (WOW).  The 8th graders go up to the Himalayas and raft the Ganga (Ganges) River. We start at 4:15am and hop on a train for five hours. From there, we get on a bus for the last hour and a half. On the bus, while talking with Jason, we were struck with the idea of making a lip dub video. So without further build up, check out the video we made.

The Wait is Over!

Hello All!  It's time for a long-awaited update on the blog.  Don't worry, nothing bad happened to prevent us from writing a blog up to this point, we've just been too lazy to put something together and the longer we've waited and the more pictures that have been accumulating, the more daunting writing a blog entry summarizing the events in our lives has become.  But don't worry!  The long wait is over!

Here's what's been happening in our world:

Summer:  We started our summer in Spain which Isaac says he has already started writing about so I won't waste your time writing about it now.
After Spain, we traveled to Texas for all kinds of amazing adventures like:

Camp!  We visited the camp Isaac used to work at and seeing how much more energy college kids have than I do (shocking!)  Here's a picture of my imitation of the excitement of the counselors.  I fell asleep in the car 2 minutes after this picture was taken.  I also managed to offend a few folks who weren't used to my crass-ness.  Is that a word?  Anyway I thought calling eggs a chicken period was hilarious.  Others did not.....enough said.  Mmm I love eating periods for breakfast and using them to make cakes!

I finally got an Aggies t-shirt!  I blended to Aggieland right in!........until I opened my mouth.......

Isaac and his buddy Clinton at Sky Ranch

Baseball: We went to many baseball games, as per usual during the summer.  Here's a pic of one of Isaac's fave games.  This is the White Sox/Rangers game where the White Sox beat the Rangers I think 18-0.  He only almost got in a fight with ONE White Sox fan which I consider a victory.  :)  No, it wasn't my dad!

Isaac also got to go to a few Rangers games in Texas and a brewers game with J-Strickland while I was busy hanging out with some college buddies in Chicago.  T'was awesome!  Also, I realize we're wearing the same shirt in every picture but it was really different games and we really did wash the shirts.

My dad and his favorite child

During Justin's visit the weather decided to be ridiculously hot so we decided to visit a giant metal sculpture.

Visiting friends:  We also got to hang out with some friends who we never get to see enough.  Katie, Melissa, Emily, Jessie, Luis, Jenny Chen, Lexi, Robert, and Andy, t'was a treat! (Sorry I don't have many pics of our adventures together :()  And in Texas, we stayed at the most beautiful house I've ever seen in my life with the lovely Phil and Cammy Bethencourt and their awesome family.  Not to mention the wonderful Glen family.  Good times.  Melissa, Jeff, Tim, Mary Catherine, Jordan, Katie, and ?   We loved seeing all of y'all!

We even got to see some friends from India in the States.  Thanks, Kevin for letting us stay ar your parents' lake house!  This is Preeti and Tahireh.  They're the coolest!

Family:  Hanging out with family is always a blast. (well maybe not always but living out of the country sure does make people miss/love you more)  One of my fave Currey experiences this summer was meeting Joels new gf Morgan (ok she's not really new but we finally got to  meet her this summer).  She's kindred spirit (aka she laughs at my fart jokes) so I hope that she's in the picture for a loooooooooooooong time (no pressure guys ;))

Here's a concert I dragged..um I mean invited my parents to come to with us.  It's Isaac's fave band: Fountains of Wayne
I even got to go on stage to play!  Check out that fanny pack!

it was sooooooo hot in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin
family softball game!  This is before I hit poor Claire in the face.  It wouldn't be family softball without someone getting hit in the face.  Thanks for taking one fore the team Claire!  I'll work on my aim for next year. You house next time?

It was also great to see our favorite (only) nephew skye and his folks: Adam and Tiffany.  (sorry, no pics.  Man we're terrible.  We'll work on it for next year!  :))

AND a special treat this year was when we got to visit Matt and the other Becky Currey in Phoenix, Arizona.  I never knew how beautiful Arizona was!  Look forward to another visit guys!  :)

I found this on the ground!  Horny Toad!

OK I think that's everything that happened this summer.  At least everything I can remember now.  Let's move on to what's been happening in India:

Excursions:  As many of you know already, we moved to housing on campus this year and have found it very easy to stay on campus and out of India this year.  It's amazing how stressful it can be just driving a few km (I know I'm so international, using km instead of miles) through India to and from school each day.  BUT despite becomeing total recluses on campus we have ventured out a few times to explore India.

One of our trips to the "outside" was to visit the Lotus Temple.  This is a temple for people in the Baha'i religion.  It's a pretty cool faith if you ask me.  I linked some info if you want to learn about it.  My India bf is a Baha'i so it's been cool to learn about it.  Don't worry, Mom, I'm not converting.  The best part of the visit was when Isaac tried to get people to take a picture of us and they thought he wanted them IN the picture with us.  Isaac didn't get annoyed at all.  Just kidding.  Love you, dear!  :)

Ananda Spa: Another excursion we took was to this amazing spa that celebrities like Oprah and Brangelina have been to (although they weren't there at the time).  It was really nice.  There were peacocks everywhere and I relived the trauma of not getting to hug a peacock.  One of these days, they will let me hug them!  Another eventful think that happened at the spa was I DID MY FIRST CARTWHEEL!  Ok so it wasn't the prettiest of cartwheels but my feet left the ground and landed again!  I know it's hard to believe that someone with the grace and coordination that I have was unable to do a cartwheel but I really couldn't until Tahireh convinced me to give it another try.  And, as always, Isaac was there to support me by telling me to "just do it and stop talking about it".  Thanks honey.  Here's photo proof!:

He's so supportive!  Or he's distracted by a peacock
ahhh, so fresh in the Himalayan foothills!

I was sooooo close!

Un-Excursions:  I don't think that's a word, but we've done so many things around school that I needed a good category to describe them in.  Most recently, we had an awesome 80s party for my birthday.  Here are some highlights that hopefully won't get me in trouble!  ;)

I don't know what Isaac said or did in this pic, but it was probably awesome.

Ok I think that pretty much gets you up to speed on what's been happening with the Indian Currey's.  Maybe it won't be another 5 months before our next post.  No promises though!  Also, if you are going to be around Chicago OR Seattle from Nov 10-19 give me an e-mail!  I'll be Stateside for a conference then!
