Summer is fast approaching and that can mean only one thing...time for my annual haircut. Like most things in my life, my cheapness is in a constant state of warfare with my personal hygiene (the reason Becky loves me). That basically means that I will do anything to not pay for a haircut more than once a year. I really cannot remember the last time I payed for more than a couple in a years time.
This time I decided to take a page out of the Anthony Arnold (Evans MS vice-principal and former boss) and let a kid cut my hair to raise some money for a good cause. We sold raffle tickets to get a winner who then got to design my hair any style they wanted. This satisfies several wants. First, I get a free haircut. Second, my desperate need for attention is appeased by school announcements, posters, and general excitement about getting to cut a teachers hair any way they want. Third, we raise some money for the school mission trips. Fourth, I get some attention. Plus, I don't have to pay for a haircut.
As it turns out, the teachers were into this thing as much as or more than the students (one teacher bought over 100 tickets), which could say a variety of things about what my colleagues think of me. I choose not to think about it. In the end, 500,000 won ($500) was raised and this was the result.Wednesday to Friday! Friday afternoon I finished it off.
I know what you are thinking, and no that is not a picture of David Beckham and Posh. That is actually me and Becky. Don't be so shocked!
Lastly, here is a picture from Muster in Seoul.
